Residue
A CLI and self-hosted backend that captures AI agent conversations and links them to git commits, creating a searchable record of how code was written.
Every push uploads the AI conversations that informed your code changes. Residue hooks into your git workflow and agent sessions to create a searchable archive of how code was written, not just what changed.
Agent adapters call into the CLI when conversations start and end. Git hooks call in when commits and pushes happen. The CLI connects the two, tagging sessions with commit SHAs and uploading everything on push.
Session data goes directly to R2 via presigned URLs. The Cloudflare Worker stores only lightweight metadata in D1. A server-rendered UI lets you browse commits and read the full conversations that produced them. Search is powered by Cloudflare AI Search over stripped-down text summaries of each session.
Users deploy their own worker via a one-click Cloudflare deploy button. No multi-tenant backend, no auth complexity, no data privacy concerns.
Currently supports Claude Code and pi as agent adapters. Adding a new agent means writing one mapper for the UI and one search text extractor for the CLI.
