Obi
A read-only CLI that gives AI agents structured access to Obsidian vaults.
Obsidian vaults hold rich project documentation, but agents have no good way to access them. Obi parses both note content and .obsidian/ plugin data to surface structured, queryable data from the terminal.
Commands cover three workflows: orientation (vault listing, folder structure, property schema, workspace state), navigation (read notes, extract sections, heading trees, link graphs with two-hop connections), and querying (filter by frontmatter fields, content search, recent notes, unread notes).
Output defaults to TOON for minimal token usage, with a JSON flag for machine-readable output. Every command returns typed data. The agent never has to parse raw markdown or grep through files.
Vault discovery is automatic via iCloud sync paths or an environment variable. Per-vault and global config control ignore patterns. Missing plugins degrade gracefully, returning null fields instead of errors.
